Terms of Use

Last updated: October 16, 2026

The short version. MyDugsi is free, and an account is optional: without one, your progress stays on your device. Use it to learn and share it, don’t pretend to be us or misuse it, and remember that it is a learning aid, not a teacher or a source of religious rulings.

1. Who we are

MyDugsi (“MyDugsi”, “we”, “us”) is a free course for learning to read and memorize the Qur’an. It is available at mydugsi.org and in the MyDugsi app for iPhone and Android (together, the “Service”). MyDugsi is run from the United States. You can reach us at support@mydugsi.org, or by mail at MyDugsi, 200 S 21st St, Ste 400A, Lincoln, NE 68510.

2. Agreeing to these Terms

By using the Service you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

3. Free to use

The Service is free. There are no ads, no payments and nothing locked behind a paywall. If that ever changes, we will tell you and update these Terms before it does.

4. Your progress and your account

Without an account, your progress, saved items and settings are kept only on your device or in your browser. You can erase them at any time (see Delete your data). If you delete the app, clear your browser data, or lose or reset your device, that progress is gone and we can’t restore it, because we never had a copy.

An account is optional; you must be 13 or older to create one. With an account, your progress is also kept in your account, so it follows you to your other devices. Keep your password to yourself. You can delete your account at any time in Settings. If an account breaks the community rules, we may stop it from posting; it keeps everything else.

5. Using the Service fairly

You may use the Service, copy it and share it. Please don’t:

6. The Qur’an, translations and recitations

The Arabic text, translations and recitations are provided to help you learn.

7. Who owns what

The MyDugsi name and logo belong to us; only we may use them. Translations, recitations, fonts and other materials belong to their owners and are credited on our Credits page.

8. Your responsibility

If you misuse the Service or break these Terms and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.

If you believe something in the Service infringes your copyright, email support@mydugsi.org with: your contact details, the work you own, where it appears in the Service, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized and that your notice is accurate. We will review it promptly and remove material where appropriate.

10. Changes to these Terms

If we change these Terms in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and show a notice in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.

11. Notices

We may give you notices through the app or on this website. You can send notices to us at support@mydugsi.org.

12. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Please contact us first: most problems can be solved by email.

13. General

If any part of these Terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term right away, we haven’t waived it. We may transfer these Terms to a company that takes over the Service, including a business we form to run it. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
